Sudbury Burlesque is asking its audience to step right up to their seventh annual Monster’s Ball where all the dark sides of the big top will thrill and chill.

The carnival is coming to town : but the clowns, acrobats and creatures all look a little different this time around. In a celebration of the carnivals of old, Monster’s Ball 7: Cursed in Carnival Land will mesmerize and enchant with its combination of burlesque, circus, and freak show acts.

Over twenty local and traveling performers will take to the Grand Theatre stage to dazzle audiences – including the “Goliaths of Glam” duo IZOHNNY, flying their two ring circus all the way in from Portland, Oregon.

“Halloween is always such an exciting time for us”, says Jessica Crowe, artistic director of Sudbury Burlesque. “The cursed carnival theme is coming with so many twists and turns, and it’s going to be our biggest show yet! We can’t wait to show everyone what we have up our sleeves.”

Monster’s Ball 7: Cursed in Carnival Land will take everyone’s favorite parts of the circus experience and make it larger-than-life – with cheeky and sexy twists. Even the audience can join in the fun by coming dressed up as their favorite ‘carnival’ or ‘circus’ character – but any costume will do, with fantastic prizes for the best dressed in the room.

Eleven years of Halloween fun for Sudbury Burlesque

Sudbury Burlesque was started over a decade ago with a small group of performers putting together an intimate Halloween show for a small audience of friends and family.

Today, Sudbury Burlesque has dozens of productions under their belt, including multiple sold out spectacles at The Grand Theatre. They are Northern Ontario’s premiere producers of Halloween and burlesque events and have entertained thousands of satisfied audience members; with local performers joining nationally and internationally acclaimed acts. 

Sudbury Burlesque has created a tradition of the unexpected during their events that mashup music, dance, comedy, and striptease. Beyond the stage show, guests at Monster’s Ball 7 can expect a costume party, booths from local and traveling vendors, a spooky after party at HQ Nightclub, and a host of other on-site surprises.
