Sudbury-born, international drag queen performer announces hometown show
Sudbury-born performer Carmen Dior is pleased to announce she is bringing her solo drag show to her hometown. This will be the first professional drag performance of its kind to grace a Sudbury stage.
Born and raised in Sudbury, Carmen Dior – also known as Noah Carniello – has taken their talents to international stages, performing worldwide from New York City to Japan. Noah is fresh off an international performance contract with Universal Studios in Japan, where they have been living and performing for the past year.
Noah has sold out numerous headlining performances as Carmen Dior in Japan, and has also performed at several Toronto venues; however, they are especially excited to be bringing Carmen Dior to the place where everything began.
“I’m so grateful to be bringing my drag show to my hometown,” they said. “I feel an immense responsibility to always bring my art, and experiences, back to my home to showcase with the people who have supported me from the very start of it all.”
Following the international commercial success of drag performances and competitions such as RuPaul’s Drag Race, audience members are sure to fall in love with Carmen Dior, just as international crowds already have. Carmen hopes that all who attend will enjoy being exposed to a new and unique type of performance.
They emphasized, “Through my art I want nothing more than to touch hearts, make people smile, and inspire others. If I inspire just one person in the audience, I have done my job. I want everyone to have the most incredible night.”
Carmen Dior Live in Sudbury, an all ages event, will take place Saturday February 1, 2020 at the Lower Hall of the Caruso Club. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m. A meet and greet with Carmen is included in the ticket cost and will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.carmendior.eventbrite.com.
