The Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario (GNO) invites the members of the community to its annual art sale and fundraiser: the Nouveau Louvre. The opening will be held Saturday Nov. 23, at 2 PM, at 139 Durham Street. The sale runs until December 21.
The 24th edition of the Nouveau Louvre is the biggest art sale and fundraiser for the GNO, where every artwork is for sale at 200$, of which 125$ goes to the artist and 75$ goes to the GNO as a donation. This contributes to the not-for-profit organism’s activities of offering to its visitors free access to contemporary art.
This year, the GNO has received over a 100 artworks from established and emerging artists from all over the province, from Sudbury to Timmins and Toronto, to name a few. Visitors of the Nouveau Louvre will be able to shop among more than 250 artworks of multiple styles, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, engravings and embroideries.
The opening of the Nouveau Louvre is a Holiday tradition and is highly anticipated in the community since the artworks are sold first come first serve, and sell quickly. It is possible to shop in person at 139 Durham Street or online at www.gn-o.org. The sale is being held from Nov. 23 to Dec. 21, 2019 during the following opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday, noon to 6 PM; Friday, noon to 8 PM; Saturday, 11 AM to 6 PM.
