Sudbury Art Battle Finalist headed to Toronto finals in July.

Local Artists Monique Legault was the winner in the third and final Art Battle contest held at Cambrian College on Wednesday June 13.  Monique won over 8 other contestants who created the best work they could in just 20 minutes.  As they work, patrons move around the easels, closely watching the creative process. The medium is acrylic paint and the tools allowed are brushes, palette knives or any non-mechanical implements. At the end of the round, the audience votes democratically for their favourite painting.  The paintings are then auctioned off to members of the audience. Art Battles happens in more than 50 cities worldwide,

As the winner in this Sudbury final Art Battle Monique has earned a spot at the National Championships in Toronto in July and will represent the city against painters from all across Canada.
