Enhanced by Nature

June 1 - June 30

Artists on Elgin is proud to announce that their exhibit for the month of June will comprise of the work created by award winning wood artisan, David Solomon in his exhibition titled ‘Enhanced by Nature’. The opening reception will be held on Saturday June 2, from 1:00-4:00pm.

David’s primary focus is creating decorative wood boxes from exotic hardwoods, often combined with Nature enhanced pieces of maple. He uses spalted maple, pieces obtained from his Manitoulin Island cottage property, as the focal point in many of his works. David also creates one-of-a-kind wall art, revealing the beauty hidden within select pieces of crotch maple.

David will always have a passion for wood. He loves the way it looks, feels, and smells and he hopes that this passion translates into creations that surprise and delight the senses of the viewers. David also hopes that it facilitates in them a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty of wood, especially the hidden treasures which are often undiscovered.

Artists on Elgin encourages and welcomes the public to an opening reception that will surely captivate the natural and delicate beauty of wood through a variety of display pieces, as well as hanging wood art. The exhibit itself will run from June 1-30.

Artists on Elgin is located at 168 Elgin Street, and is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
