Dance

Claire’s School of Dancing

When Claire’s School of Dancing’s doors opened in 1973, Claire’s vision was to teach children not only how to dance but how to love to dance. She went well beyond that creating a family atmosphere in her studio which is special and difficult to accomplish in the competitive business of dance education. When Claire’s students leave the school for the pursuit of post secondary education or a career in dance, they always do so with a heavy heart and a smile at the thought of the fond memories and lifelong friendships created during their training with Claire’s School of Dancing.

In September of 2005, the school was graciously passed on to Claire’s daughter, Tracy McLaughlin-Larocque, who vows to preserve the legacy created by her mother. Tracy, along with her experienced and professional faculty, who were all trained at Claire’s School of Dancing, offer quality dance training to all children, whether they’re interested in dancing recreationally or working toward the competitive program. We invite you to join us for a fun filled, relaxed and exciting learning experience!

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Sudbury Irish Arts Association Inc.

CCE SIAAI concerns itself with the development of an environment conducive to: promoting traditional Irish music and arts in all forms; promoting, in particular, the playing of the harp and uilleann pipes locally; promoting Irish traditional dancing and singing with the traditional music; fostering and promoting the use of the Irish language; creating a closer bond among all lovers of Irish music and culture.

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Sudbury Irish Arts Association Inc. (a non-profit, charitable organization) was originally formed on March 17, 1996 under the name Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Sudbury Branch. Since the begining, we have produced 14 Irish Celtic fairs, and ran a variety of weekly programs, large community shows (e.g. Echoes of Erin) and preformed in countless venues.  We also train local adult singers, dancers and speakers of Irish, and also children to dance, sing, speak Irish, Irish crafts, do plays, and play fiddles and tin whistles.  Our programs are provided on a weekly basis to children, youth and adults.  We also run a week long Irish Summer school.

Let’s Dance

Let’s Dance has been in business for 21 years. We believe strongly that dance is a wonderful way to promote self confidence, coordination and discipline in an atmosphere that encourages creativity, as well as allows children to develop social interactions with their peers. Most children will not become professional dancers, therefore my philosophy is to teach an appreciation and love for the dance form. Children are able to expand their dance knowledge, learning new steps and terminology in a safe atmosphere that moves to their pace. Dance should be fun, yet still recognized as an art form, where children can express themselves!
